About Eddie Adams (1933 – 2004)

http://images.fineartamerica.com/images-medium-large/eddie-adams-1933-2004-news-everett.jpgPhotographer Eddie Adams covered 13 wars, beginning with Marine Corps combat photographer in Korea in the early 1950s and ending in Kuwait in 1991.

He did three tours of Vietnam with the Associated Press. Executed at close range on a Saigon street by a South Vietnamese general.

In his more than five decades as a working photographer, Adams received more than 500 awards honoring his work, including World Press, New York Press, National Headliners and Sigma Delta Chi Awards.

He said he likes getting them; that they’re nice. But he didn’t display them. He didn’t display that famous photo from Vietnam, either.
he also said that If he’d had his way, that photo would never be released for publication again.

Eddie Adam's photography - execution

I got the information from this website

One of the most important photographic images of the twentieth century, a Pulitzer Prize winner shot by photographer Eddie Adams.

Viet Cong officer is executed by South Vietnamese national police chief Brig. Adams regretted taking it, saying that the location and feelings around such a photo could never be emotionally explained and Nguyen Ngoc Loan appeared to be a villain when perhaps he wasn’t.

IN MY OPINION ABOUT THE PICTURE ABOVE!!!

looking at the picture above, it made me feel sick seeing someone having the gun pointed to their head. in that country made me feel more sick knowing they could do anything they want to any other person where they could of got harmless punishments not murder.

Introduction to you

What would I like to learn from the unit?
I would like to learn more skills by using different type of camera. Also to learn what are the differences between each of the cameras such as technologies that are being used.

I also like to take pictures of a lot of things BUT I always like taking pictures of nature and portraits.
